Pike "competition" today

Today me and Niklas had a contest.

We walked out in a bay and after five minutes of fishing i told Niklas

its no pikes here.

He said yes mabey they are gone.

The next throw i took i had an heavy attack i turned around to niklas and said one - zero.

But just after 5 sec he said one one.

And then it was on again.

We had pikes after pikes and big smiles on our faces.

When we stopped to fish i had 35 pikes and Niklas 17.

So 52 pikes under three hours is not bad.

Niklas also took a swim with the pikes he hit a stone and fall into the water. HAHAHA

But he manage to catch the bigges one today.

So no loser today :)

Still good trout fishing

Today i Fished seatrout together with Andreas.

The morning started really good, after just one and a half hour we had 5 trouts

one lost and a few attacks.

Then the wind started to decrease, so did the trouts.

We changed place and we took one more.

Here is two pictures of Andreas in his best position...

I manage to hook a tobis today.

Its on of the seatrouts favorite food.

Pike Heaven On Öland!!!

Yesterday Niklas from Borgholm followed me for some fishing.

Pike was on the menu.

This was the first time he fished with jerkbait.

I think he is hooked now :)

It sonly one way we can describe the day.

Amazing

It was pikes everywhere.

All the day almost all the casts we had contact with pikes.

We catched between 40-50 pikes and some of them was really fat.

Great fishing today with a tuch of "¤%#¤&#¤%

I had two options today.

Drive to the eastside and fish for pike, or the west side to fish trout.

I think i took the right choice :)

I had some new lures i had to try.

The name is "no name".

Its a Swedish handmade lure with good quality.

Southwesterly winds and high waterlevel are good conditions when to fish seatrouts here on Öland.

After two hours of fishing i had an heavy attack on long line.

When the fish is so close that i can se it i understand that its a really nice one.

Fat and shiny wiht a thick back.

When the fights is over and im just about to take it ashore the f---ing fish decided with the last energy to swin out again.

So you can guess what happend.

The hook went out and im standing on the shoreline and se the beautiful fish slowly swims out to the sea again.

Even that i catched four seatrouts just before.

I feel helpless and dejected after the fight.

I estimated the trout around 5kg.

After that i changed place and cathed another one around 50cm.

Pike season

The pikes are now gathering in the shallow bays around Öland.
Last week of fishing has been really good.

Upp to 40 contacts per day.



But its hard work, the ground is mud and sand and sometimes you can sink up to 20cm.
For me its still worth it, especially when you have attack after attack.
Thats also why i dont have so many pictures.
Because most of the times i fish alone and when im 50-100 meters out in a bay i dont want to go to the shore.


I fish with different kinds of big jerkbaits and tails, floating or shallow.
The water i fish in is between 30-90cm deep, so i see almost all the attacks.



Also one of the really good things is when i fish pike i never se other anglers.
I have it all for my self :)

I have problems to load up movies so you have to wait for that.

Today its hard winds and heavy rain.
A perfect day for pike fishing.
